College students to aid Dominicans during reading week (Welland Tribune)
Sixteen Niagara College students are heading south on their reading week Saturday, but Florida is not their destination.
The students are travelling to the Dominican Republic in the hope of helping the local greenhouse industry.
Bill MacDonald, who will be leading the students on their trip, is a professor at the college’s school of environmental and horticultural studies. He said the students will be demonstrating aquaponics to the Dominican people.
